Some additional information

Please read through this additional information about all topics related to the congress.

1.      Registration type

Following the changes to the 8ECM format, the congress Regular Participation option is no longer available. Therefore, we kindly ask that you change your registration type appropriately. (Regular Registration corresponds to Active Full E-participation).

In case you still have an Open order payment, we kindly ask that you either cancel your Open order or confirm your registration by paying the corresponding amount no later than 7 June, 2021.

2.      Payment with credit cards

We would like to bring to your attention that credit card payments are once again available.

3.      Abstract for MS/Special sessions deletion

We have permanently deleted and removed abstracts from the Minisymposia/Special Sessions where the registrations have not been concluded (i.e. the registration fees paid in full), following the notice which was communicated in December 2020.

If you would like to present your contribution at the 8ECM, you have to resubmit a proposal after concluding your registration process by choosing the Active Full E-participation option, and pay the registration fee no later than 1 May 2021, which is the final deadline for abstract submissions (we will allow two weeks for wire payments to be processed if you provide proof of payment before this date). All registered participants with a paid registration fee will have their abstracts announced in the 8ECM Contribution list (https://8ecm.si/abstracts).

4.      Registration fee refunds

Due to the worldwide epidemic of COVID – 19, and subsequently moving all lectures online, a new refund policy is in effect from February 23, 2021, stating additional clauses for cancellations and refunds.

Delegates may receive a partial refund for cancellation, in the amount of 120 €, according to the defined rules. Participation fees for accompanying persons will be fully refunded (100%). More information is available on our website.

Eligible participants can write to 8ecm.registration@famnit.upr.si with a request for a partial refund and proof of their status no later than March 31, 2021.

5.      Hotel reservation at the 8ECM venue

Hotels Bernardin (the 8ECM venue) offer the following options for the 8ECM delegates: 

- Option to keep your reservation for the week of the 8ECM and enjoy your summer break, in which case you do not need to cancel your reservation.

- Option to cancel your reservation and receive a full deposit refund (if it has been already paid by July 2020).

- Option to change your reservation (if a deposit has been paid) to a later date in 2021. Change in dates is subject to a price change.

If choosing the second or third option, please report your decision to the Booking Office Hotels Bernardin no later than 12 April 2021 by the same method as the reservation had been made; either via the online link (modify or cancel the reservation by using the cancellation link you received with your reservation confirmation), or write to booking@h-bernardin.si or book.congress@h-bernardin.si.

6.      Chess Tournament

Following the decision to take the 8ECM online, the chess tournament has been cancelled.

7.      We’re sending you a delegate welcome package!

Just because the 8ECM is moving online, doesn’t mean you can’t have something to remember us by. All participants will be receiving a welcome package, including a T-shirt!

We have added an option to enter your mailing address in your registration profile. If you would like to receive the package, please add your address in the “Personal details” section by clicking the “EDIT REGISTRATION DETAILS” (see the picture below).
